When I walked into the District Administration Center this afternoon with my kids and 2 others to help stuff school supplies for families in need in Liberty, I was completely blown away by all of the supplies sitting on the shelves!! I wish I would have brought my camera because I was absolutely in shock of how all of you came out to support our community. It was amazing to see all of the supplies and the women who collected all of the supplies from all of you said they had already given much of it away, so what we were seeing wasn't even all of it.
All I can say, is this little grassroots effort proved that with the help of many, we made a HUGE difference for Liberty and the children who needed some extra help to start the school year off right.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you for contributing, thank you for spreading the word, and thanks for making a difference!!

Progress Update
As you all know, the tax-free weekend is coming up for school supplies, so if you haven't had a chance to contribute to this effort, it's not too late to do so! Please remember to drop off any contributions by Friday, August 14 to Becky at the District Administration Center (650 Conistor, Liberty, MO).
We've had some wonderful donations come in and all of our families who requested assistance have been sponsored. A special thank you to those families who helped out in this way. One mother I had the opportunity to talk to was touched to the point of tears knowing that she was able to relieve this burden and worry. It's incredible to see our community coming together!
If you are wondering what we are in need of, please refer to either of the lists below. Thank you again!!

Update
First of all, let me say THANK YOU to all of you who have been so supportive of this endeavor. I have been blown away w/ the kind hearts of so many Liberty folks!!
As many of you may have seen through QuickNews, Liberty Public Schools has mobilized a centralized effort to collect and distribute school supplies to those who need it. Our donations will most definitely go towards this cause! It is exciting to see everyone working together for children that really need the help.
You can choose to participate by donating from the Project Bluejay list below or from the list the school district put out in QuickNews (see below for that list). The drop-off point stays the same (District Administration Center ~ 650 Conistor ~ Liberty). Any way you choose to participate will be greatly appreciated!
